Hey guys its been awhile. Um im having trouble with the Smooth Groups in blender. i recently made a sniper rifle but it has alot of dark meshes on it and i can't seem to clean it.. can someone help me? i need to learn the basics on smoothing and cleaning dark meshes....  Grin

It's usually bad normals that cause dark lines. You might need to recalculate them in edit mode. Select all the faces of your model and then press Control-N and then click "Recalculate Normals Outside".

If that doesn't work you may need to flip normals manually with Control-F.

i think it's just blender. most model's i've seen in blender always have black spots when the "set smooth" is used. you could also make sure you dont have any overlapping faces. that usually screws up renders too.
