Unfortunately I realized that changing the colors in the palette won't fix the graininess in the game. If you really want to get rid of the graininess we'll have to modify the engine to use 16 bit (high color) or 24 bit (true color) instead of 8 bit palletized color. Though having a higher bit mode requires more CPU.

That is a toughie considering quality or quanity. I would update the pallete to true color and then go back and see if there is any ram and cpu to spare. Like Sami said "Every little bit helps : )"
