Title: DukeInstinct's 3d gun modeling tutorial
Post by: DukeInstinct on May 24, 2010, 06:54:27 pm
I've been wanting to make a 3d gun tutorial for some time now and finally got around to it. I modeled an M14 battle rifle and screen recorded the entire process. The gun took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to make. The edited video is 40 minutes long, was divided into 5 different videos, and uploaded to YouTube. I'll most likely be making a 3d gun animation tutorial to go along with this.

It was a little over 2100 tris. And attachments will be most likely be done by adding another entity to the game.

interesting way you make your models. i do it differently. i start from the side view and just extrude edges of a plane to get the shape of the gun. then i extrude again to make it 3d. if i were you, i'd model the top part separate from the stock so its more 3 dimensional.
